Electronic Check Recovery, also known as Representment, (RCK) is a new process of recovering NSF checks by converting the check into an electronic transaction.  The customer's account is debited for the amount of the check and the collection fee.  The National Automated Clearing House (NACHA) announced in March, 1998 that checks which have been returned unpaid for NSF can now be collected through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network, the network that allows financial institutions to exchange payments on behalf of business customers and consumers.  This is a FREE service to our merchants.

Electronic Check Conversion is the term used to describe the process of converting, at the point of sale, a paper check to an Electronic Funds Transfer, also referred to an "Electronic Check" through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network.

Electronic Check Verification provides the convenience of an electronic check deposit with the assurance of verification from the country's most powerful database - all operating on an electronic terminal with minimal peripheral equipment.

With the addition of a check reader to their terminal, merchants may opt for the security of verification through the check reader and convenience of electronic deposit to their bank account.

Accounts Receivable Conversion refers to a method whereby (1) the payor issues a paper check, (2) transfers it to the payee and (3) at a point in the collection process-such as a accounts receivable-the paper check is converted to an electronic payment. Presentment is made to the payor’s financial institution electronically and the paper check or image is stored for a legally specified period of time by the remittance processor.
